Blu is our very first rescue Pug, so she is a very special 2.5 year old girl. We acted to bring Blu into the rescue when it was apparent she was at risk of being sold cheaply in an area renowned for back yard breeding. Something we could not allow to happen!

Blu is a very intelligent, confident and lively Pug. Able to melt hearts with one look into those eyes! We are giving the best care and attention to Blu whilst in foster care,

She is in good health generally, but will be thoroughly checked over by our vet. Once she has been spayed and recovers well, we will be able to accept applications for Blu’s adoption.

Sadly, Freddie has come to us from a familiar story of owners having to give up their pets when moving house.

He is a 4 year old neutered male, with a cheeky persona, who loves his cuddles. Freddie is still excited to get out and about and he walks well on the lead.

Whilst in foster care we will be aiming to keep Freddie on a stricter diet to help him lose a bit of weight. He will undergo a check up at the vet and then once he has been fully assessed by his foster family, we will be looking for his perfect forever home.

Bella, our lively little girl is 4.5 years old and bursting with personality. She’s fun, affectionate , and loves being around people.

However, Bella is looking for a home where she can be the only dog, as she prefers not to share her space or her people! She would suit someone who can give her lots of attention, love, and a stable environment where she can feel secure.

Ghost is our Pug/Japanese Spitz cross, he is only 2 years old and full of beans. Sadly, Ghost has come to the Rescue as his owner has moved into accommodation with very limited space. He felt that Ghost needed a family with a garden and lots of access to big walks, as he has a lot of energy.

Ghost is already neutered and we will assess him in foster care to work out the right kind of home he would be suited to. So far he is friendly to dogs and children, loves cuddles and a fuss, but needs a bit of training to be less pushy/needy.

Importantly, Ghost has an issue with his front left paw, which turns outwards. This is likely to be due to a break of the leg when he was a puppy. It doesn’t hold him back at all currently, but longer term it is something to be aware of and will need managing. We will be getting a full assessment and advice from the vets about this prior to rehoming.

Luna is 5 years old and has come to us after a relationship breakdown left her owner unable to give her the time and freedom she needs, due to work commitments.

Luna is a very lively and active pug, she is also very sweet and loving too. Luna comes to us needing to put a little bit of weight on and will need to be spayed prior to rehoming.

There is a suspected hernia on her belly which our vet will need to be fixed during her spay.

We will undertake a full assessment of her needs whilst in foster care so that we can match her to the perfect forever home.

Please welcome 2 beautiful girls Andi & Lunar to the rescue. We are helping their owner rehome them to a pug loving family, after some heart-breaking personal circumstances have left them unable to give the girls the full life they deserve.

Andi & Lunar are still young at 2 & 1 years old and suitably energetic. They are both fully house trained and well behaved on their walks.

At the moment we are treating them as a bonded pair and we will do a full assessment for them over the next few weeks. Massive thank you to their foster family for taking them on together.

Bobby has been surrendered to us due to changes in circumstances at home and unsuitable working hours. This meant that he was being left at home alone for far too long. His family realised that they can’t give him the time and attention he craves.

Bobby is a very cuddly and loving 3 year old boy. He is still currently in tact and has been scent marking on his first day. His foster family will work on this and his other assessments. Bobby will be neutered prior to rehoming and he could do with losing a little bit of weight, so he is starting on his diet!

He is great with other dogs, cats and children. So we know that Bobby will be a lovely family dog for someone who can be around a lot of the time.

We would like everyone to welcome handsome little Jude, who has now safely arrived into the care of Pug Friends Rescue. Jude was sadly due to be put to sleep after his previous owner declared that he was aggressive.

Thankfully, the compassionate vet team involved, and our amazing admin team all worked together to stop this from happening and give Jude the second chance he deserved.

Jude is now safe with a foster family who are currently assessing him, getting to know him properly, and helping us understand exactly what he will need to thrive in the perfect forever home.

Every dog deserves the chance to be understood, and we are so grateful that Jude was given that opportunity.

Milo came into the rescue as an emergency foster, Milo had been an only dog until his owner sadly passed away. He was then unable to settle in his new home which was a bit too busy for him, and he was being reactive to the other dogs in the home.

Milo has come on leaps and bounds this past week, as he has felt much more comfortable in a calmer environment with a solid routine in foster. He will be assessed, vet checked and neutered whilst with us.

Milo is only a tiny boy, he loves his walks but most of all he loves belly rubs & snuggles. He is a very sweet but timid boy and we hope his defensive behaviour will soon become a thing of the past.

We will keep you updated on how Milo is getting on and what sort of home would be the best fit for him.

This lovely pair are a pug/frug young mother and daughter duo. They have been very much loved by their previous owners, but unfortunately a change in work circumstances meant they had to take on unsociable hours that could not be changed. As a result, they felt they were no longer able to give Mimii and Aria the time, attention, and companionship they deserve.

Making the decision to surrender a beloved pet is never easy, and we would like to thank their owners for putting the girls' welfare first and ensuring they could find the support they need.

Mimii and Aria are now welcomed to the rescue and are settling into their foster home while we get to know them and what they need for a happy future.

​Coco is a sweet 2 year old who came into the rescue’s care after escaping a situation bad enough that the RSPCA had to get involved. She was found wandering the streets when she was spotted by a kind-hearted family. ​

Coco is officially safe, sound, and settling into her very loving foster home with us. ​ ​Despite everything she has been through, Coco is showing us every day just how resilient and forgiving dogs can be. She is finally learning what it feels like to be safe, warm and cherished. ​

We want to give a massive thank you to the wonderful family who found her and kept her safe when she needed it most. You saved her life, and we will take it from here!

Due to a change in family circumstances, Suki's owners made the difficult decision that they could no longer provide her with the care and attention she deserves.

Suki is 2 years old and would benefit from being the only pet in the household. She is now safe and settled in foster care with us, where she is receiving lots of love, comfort and cuddles while we get to know her better.

We look forward to sharing updates on this beautiful girl as she settles into rescue life. Welcome to the Pug Friends family, Suki!

Lola is a 7 year old Jug, already spayed and waiting to find her forever home. We have helped her owners rehome her due to age and illness affecting them both. This means they can no longer support Lola and give her the life she needs.

Lola is a very lovely girl, quite chilled for a Jug and loves her cuddles. She still does like a play and has a favourite ball and large octopus toy! She is used to having her owners at home a lot with her, so we would be looking for a similar situation for adoption.

Lola is well behaved on walks, friendly to other dogs and has experience living with them. She really likes children and is good with her food, not too fussy. If you think you can give Lola the home and love she needs, please complete our application form to apply!

Bentley is a 7 year old gent who has come to us due to a change in circumstances and health with his owner. Bentley is a sweet boy who loves being with you and getting a fuss.

Bentley has a lot of love to give, he is good with cats and children but may need to be the only dog as he can get jealous and also reactive over food.

Bentley is settling in at his foster home and will be seen by a vet and assessed whilst with us. He will get all the TLC he needs to set him up for his forever home.

Frank & James have come to the Rescue as surrenders with a questionable back story. All too common with our rescue Pugs. We are now aware that these poor boys have been overused for breeding, as studs, which has caused them some significant medical issues which the vet had to treat.

We are working to give the boys the proper TLC they really need and have a few more vet treatments lined up, to get them feeling like new Pugs again!

We will let you all know how they progress in foster care and hopefully learn to trust and feel loved again.

Luna is an undetermined cross of Shitzu, Terrier and Pug. She comes to us with quite an awful story, having been sold to a new owner under the false pretence of a ‘fluffy frenchie’.

The vets confirmed that there was no information on her microchip, they estimate her to be between 2-4 yrs old and to have had a couple of litters.

You may notice from her photo that there is no obvious tail, this was described by the vet as the most brutal ‘docking’ they had ever seen and was way too close to her spine and she was very lucky not to have been paralysed.

Luckily her health is otherwise ok and she is a lovely sweet girl who has already made a huge impression on her foster family.

Della and Minnie are gorgeous 4 year old Puggle twins. The girls were surrendered to us from a loving home, but their previous owner was suffering from worsening health conditions and was not able to look after them or give them the life they deserve.

Della & Minnie are both already spayed and up to date with all vaccinations as well as flea & worm treatments. They are pretty lively girls so need a family who can handle them, spend lots of time with them and take them for their exercise.

We are looking for applicants who feel ready to adopt a bonded pair and accept all the love they have to give. Please get in touch if you think this sounds like you!

Chunk is 6 years old and a really sweet boy who just needs some love. Chunk was surrendered to us as his family were dealing with some worsening allergies with one of their children and needed to rehome him.

Chunk still needs to be neutered and needs a bit of TLC with his face folds, nose & ears but foster family have done a good job of cleaning him up already!

He is good with kids, cats and other dogs, with a playful, energetic personality when you get to know him, a happy boy.

Marley is a 3 year old Pug x Jack Russell who has come to us due to her previous owner moving house and being unable to take her with them.

Marley is a lively girl who likes to play and explore, she is good with other dogs, cats and children.

She will be spayed whilst in foster and fully assessed before being ready for adoption.

Teddy is a handsome 2 year old boy, not yet neutered. He came to use from an unethical online seller.

He is house trained, good with other dogs but untested with cats. He is very very playful, he loves toys and walks. He's quite easily overstimulated at noise and has barked at the coffee machine and his own reflection!

Teddy loves a cuddle but will move himself when he’s had enough and settle in his own space.

Booboo is a lovely 8 year old girl, already spayed, who is really good with children and other dogs.

She loves to be comfy, she enjoys sitting on the arm of the sofa if she’s not already on a lap. She will be a great companion and should fit in well to a calm home.

Booboo gobbles down her food like a hoover and hasn’t quite learnt yet that there is no sharing, so a slow feeder may be the way forward! She is the sweetest, loving girl and will make a new family extremely happy.

Sandy is a 1 year old Pug x Jack Russell cross (Jug), so she is a bit larger than a standard Pug!

Sandy was surrendered to us as her young owners had a baby not long after getting her. They are now finished with maternity leave and going back to work and don’t want to leave her home all the time.

She is a sweet girl who needs to explore the big wide world and build up her confidence. She loves to play with her ball and get a belly rub and is great with kids.
